What's New in Version 1.0.1
When we launched Summori, we started with support for Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, and M4 chips). Today, we're expanding that support to include Intel-based Macs, ensuring that more users can benefit from AI-powered video summarization.
Version 1.0.1 brings:
- Full Mac Intel support: Summori now runs natively on Intel-based Macs, delivering the same fast and reliable experience.
- Same great features: All the summarization capabilities you love, now available on more machines.
- Optimized performance: We've fine-tuned the app to run smoothly on both Intel and Apple Silicon architectures.
Why Intel Support Matters
While Apple has been transitioning to their own silicon since 2020, millions of Mac users still rely on Intel-based machines. These aren't outdated computers—they're powerful, capable machines that many people use daily for work, study, and creative projects.
By adding Intel support, we're making Summori accessible to:
- Students: Many students use older MacBooks handed down from family members or purchased refurbished to save money. A 2019 MacBook Pro is still an excellent machine for studying, and now these students can use Summori to learn more efficiently from video lectures and online courses.
- Professionals: Many workplaces still have fleets of Intel Macs that work perfectly well. Employees at these organizations can now use Summori to stay current with industry webinars, training videos, and conference recordings.
- Budget-conscious learners: Not everyone can afford the latest hardware. We believe that access to efficient learning tools shouldn't depend on having the newest computer.
- International users: In many regions, older Mac models remain common due to availability and pricing. Summori should be accessible regardless of geography.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
At Summori, we believe that everyone deserves access to tools that help them learn more efficiently. Time is precious, and whether you're using a brand-new M4 MacBook or a trusty 2017 iMac, you should be able to turn long videos into quick insights.
This release is part of our broader commitment to making Summori available to as many learners as possible. We're actively working on bringing Summori to Windows and Linux users as well—stay tuned for updates on those releases.
